Eastern Rangers Episode 2: Larger Than Life

Act 1
Scene 1
Setting: A dance club in downtown Angel Grove. The Rangers are sitting around a table talking.

Tai: So, is everyone ready for the big history test next week?

Victor: Are you kidding?! I haven't even started studying yet.

Kara: I don't think I'll ever be ready for it. It covers everything in the first 10 chapters.

Joe: I'm not worried. I'll just cram the night before and be fine.

Karen: I can't put anything off till the last minute. I mean, you never know what might come up.

Scene 2
Setting: The Power Chamber. Alpha and Billy are in the back working on something, but it's too hard to see what.

Billy: Zordon, have the Rangers come soon. We're almost ready to begin the tests.

Zordon: I'm contacting them now.

Scene 3
Setting: The dance club. The Rangers are still talking about the test when their communicators go off.

Victor: Oh man, what now.

Karen: Hey, we can go over there.

She points to a dark corner in the back of the club. They all walk over to it. Joe activates his communicator.

Joe: What's the trouble?

Zordon: Please come to the Power Chamber immediatly.

Joe: We're on are way.

He looks over to the others.

Joe: We better go.

Kara: Right, might be an emergency.

The Rangers all teleport away.

Act 2
Scene 1
Setting: The Power Chamber. Billy is making some final adjustments on the machine he and Alpha were working on. Alpha is at the main console. The Rangers teleport in.

Victor: What's up Zordon.

Zordon: Billy has a surpise for you.

They all look over at Billy who is just closing up the panel on the device.

Billy: As you all know Zedd and Rita have the ability to make monsters grow. To solve that problem the Zords were created, but unfortunatly your powers won't allow you to operate the Zeo Zords.

Tai: Then what do we do if a monster grows?

Billy: Well, Alpha, Zordon, and I have been working on a little project the last few weeks. We've built some light duty zords for you to use untill we can complete their bigger couterparts.

Kara: Cool, I'll have my own zord.

Billy: Not quite Kara. Untill the real zords are done you and Tai will have to share a zord. The same goes for Karen and Joe. Victor will have his own for now.

Kara: Why does Victor get all the special treatment?

Billy: Look, all your powers were created from the Fire Staff but Victors is the only pure power. Yours are all split off from the fire power we used to create the Fire Ranger.

Joe: You mean Tai, Kara, Karen, and I could combine our powers to create Victors.

Billy: In a sense yes. Anyway, I called you here because we have to run some tests on these vehicles. I don't want you having to take them into battle without knowing how to use them.

Victor: So where do we start?

Billy: Follow me.

He leads them out of the main chamber and down a hall into the zord holding bay.

Scene 2
Setting: Zord holding bay. The Zeo Megazord and Red Battlezord are in the back. Two small tank-like vehicles are in front of them. In the front is a human looking robot. The Rangers and Billy walk in. The Rangers look at the zords in awe.

Karen: You created all these?

Billy: I helped. The small ones in front are yours. The two in the back are the main fire power for your team. Tai, you and Kara command the one on the left.

The left zord looks simmilar to a tank except there are about 10 small guns placed all around the zord instead of one large rotating one. The zord has lightning bolts and diamond shapes all around it. It is colored with blue and white cameflauge.

Kara: Cool.

Tai: Sweet ride.

Billy: Karen and Joe, the zord on the right is yours.

The right zord is identical to the left one except it has amethyst crystals and onyx stones decorating it. It is purple and black camo.

Joe: Wow, my own super tank.

Karen: Looks hard to drive.

Billy: You'll learn quick, that's why we'll be having a training exercise. The one in front is yours Victor.

It is a human like robot with blaters built into it's arms. It also has some compartments on it's chest. It has flames all over it and is colored bright orange.

Victor: Now we can really show that Gridster who's boss.

Billy: Not so fast. You all need to morph then go to your zord's cockpit. I'll go back to the main chamber so I can monitor the instruments.

Tai: Ready guys and girls.

Victor and Joe: Ready!

Kara and Karen: Let's go.

All rangers: IT'S MORPHIN TIME!

The Rangers all run to their zords and climb in.

Red Zord Cockpit
A chair sits in the center of the cocpit with a computer console in front of it. In the background is the Orange Fire symbol.

Blue and White Cockpit
Two chairs sit equaly distant from the sides of the cockpit. There is a console in front of each chair. Behind the left chair is the Blue Lightning symbol. Behind the right chair is the White Diamond Symbol.

Purple and Black Cockpit
Same as the Blue and White except the symbol behind the left chair is the Purple Amethyst Crystal and the Black Onyx Stone is behind the right.

Scene 3
Setting: The main chamber. Billy comes in and starts pushing some buttons.

Billy: Here it goes.

Alpha: I hope it works.

Scene 4
Setting: The holding bay. The Rangers are all sitting in their seats as the zords come to life.

Victor: This is great.

Tai: I can't wait to try this thing out.

Kara: Chill out, it's mine too.

Karen: Guese this is a bad time to mention I failed my drivers test ten times.

Joe: Wreck it you bought it.

Karen: Very funny.

Billy's voice comes over the intercom.

Billy: Ok guys. Activate the auto pilots. That'll take you to the training field.

Victor: Auto pilot on.

The zords begin to move out of the bay. They head to an open area outside the holding bay.

Scene 5
Setting. Open field near the holding bay mountain. The zords come out of the bay and stop just outside the boundries of the field.

Joe: We're here. What now?

Billy: Disengage auto pilot.

Joe: Auto pilot off.

Billy: I've designed the zords to help you automaticaly untill you get the hang of it. I'm activating the training program now. You should see a fake monster soon.

The Rangers look out into the field. A monster appears.

Victor: This should be fun. Let's go guys.

Tai, Joe, Kara, and Karen: Right.

The zords move into the field. Victor's zord heads for the monster.

Victor: This thing is space dust.

He sets the zord up to do a punching attack. As the zord punches the monster rolls under him and strikes the zord. Sparks fly through the cockpit.

Victor: Hey, he scratched the paint.

Tai: Right now that looks like the least of your problems.

Victor:(sarcasticaly) Haha. Very funny.

Joe: Ok Karen, let's show him how this is done.

Karen: I'm locking the weapons onto the target. Locked on. Fire when ready.

The zords main gun aims toward the monster.

Joe: FIRE!

The gun fires. The monster quickly grabs Victors zord and pulls it in front of it. It takes the full blast. Sparks fly from it's chest. It looses power and falls to the ground.

Victor: Hey! You killed my zord.

Joe(looks embarased): Opps, sorry.

The monster runs over and kicks the tank, sending it flying into the mountainside. It sparks and shuts down.

Tai: I guess it's up to us now Kara.

Kara: Let's show these guys how to use a zord.

Their tank zord moves close to the monster. The zord fires and hits the monster. The monster is stuned by the blast. When he recovers he turns and charges at the zord.

Kara: Hurry, fire again!

Tai: FIRE 2!

The zord fires again and the monster is destroyed. Billy's voice comes in on the communicators.

Billy: Everyone teleport back to the Power Chamber.

All Rangers: Ok.

Scene 6
Setting: The Power Chamber. The rangers teleport in. Alpha and Billy are standing on opposite sides of Zordon's energy tube.

Zordon: I'm very dissapointed Rangers. I expected you to do much better on this test. Had that been a real monster you would have never defeated it.

Karen: We did our best. We've never run anything like that before.

Tai: Hey Billy, I thought those things were gonna help us run them.

Billy: The sensors said the help program was active.

Joe: Still, they were very hard to controll.

Victor: There's no way I can run that thing.

Billy: I'll check out the program when I repair the zords.

Victor: Ok. Hey, we have to go. See you later Billy.

The Rangers teleport away.

Act 3
Scene 1
Setting: Angel Grove public library. The rangers are sitting around a table studying.

Joe: This is hopeless. We'll never learn all this in time.

Karen: You need to have a positive attitude. You'll get it down.

Kara: Yeah, like you got the hang of your zord.

Joe: Hey, you didn't do much better.

Tai: At least ours still runs.

Victor: Would you all shut up please!

Karen: Sorry.

Scene 2
Setting: The moon palace. Zedd is sitting in his throne with Rita beside him.

Zedd: I can't believe that fool Zordon was able to create new Rangers.

Rita: Well I say we just send Gridster back down there to finish them off. They don't have real strong weapons anyway.

Zedd: True. They haven't gotten use to their new powers and have no clue how to fight. Oh Gridster.

Gridster enters the room.

Zedd: Why don't you go back down to earth and finish those annoying Rangers off. If they start giving you any trouble we'll just make you grow and you can squash them.

Gridster: As you command Lord Zedd.

He teleports away.

Scene 3
Setting: The Zord holding bay. Billy is working on the zords. Alpha is assisting him.

Billy: I've finished the main work, now I'm gonna look at the help panels.

He reaches in and pulls out the panel from Victors zord. He examines it carefully.

Billy: Uh oh, looks like I found our problem.

Alpha: What is it?

Billy hands him the panel. One section of it is all burned out.

Alpha: Oh my, what got fried?

Billy: That would be the help program. I'm gonna take all the panels out and go run some tests on them.

He walks over the Tai and Kara's zord and pulls out the panel. He hands it to Alpha then heads over to the last zord. He also removes it's panel and gives it to Alpha. They both walk to the entrance to the Power Chamber and go in.

Scene 4
Setting: The Power Chamber. Billy and Alpha walk in and place the panels into slots on the main console. Alpha pushes a button and the computer starts the test program. It prints the results on a sheet. Billy grabs it and starts looking over it.

Billy: Well, I think I found the problem. Zordon, have the Rangers come please.

Scene 5
Setting: The library. The communicators go off.

Kara: Not again. We're probably gonna get yelled at for trashing the zords.

Karen: Cheer up, it's not like we completly destroyed them.

Tai: Now's not the time. Lets go.

They leave the library and duck behind the building.

Victor: Yeah.

Zordon: Rangers, Billy has finished repairing the zords. He has something he needs to tell you.

Victor: We're comming.

They activate thier communicators and teleport away.

Scene 6
Setting: The Power Chamber. The Rangers teleport in.

Victor: So what's going on?

Billy walks over to the Rangers.

Billy: I owe you all an apology. It seems your problem with the zords yesterday was my error.

Karen: How so?

Billy: The way I had the circut boards set up the help program deactivated at the same time you disengaged the auto pilot. You had no help controlling your vehicles.

Tai: That would be why we got trashed.

Joe: Hey Billy, what kind of zords are these anyway?

Billy: What do you mean?

Joe: Well you said those other zords in the bay were called Zeo zords, so what are ours?

Billy: Your vehicles realy aren't zords. Zords are much more powerful. I would call them Moble Arsenal Vehicles.

Joe: That works.

Alpha barges into the conversation.

Alpha: Rangers. Report back here at 7am tomarrow and we'll run another test with the zords. For now go home and get some sleep.

Victor: Ok, see you bright and early Zordon.

Zordon: Goodnight Rangers.

They teleport home.

Scene 7
Setting: The practice field. Gridster teleports in.

Gridster: I'll just sit here and wait till I find out what all the commotion was here yesterday. Whatever they tested the will shurely test again.

The sun is setting and as Gridster fininshes talking the sun dissapears.

Scene 8
Setting: The Power Chamber. The Rangers are walking around sleepily. They are the only ones in the room.

Tai: Great. They make us get up early and they don't even show up.

Just then Zordon appears in his tube. Alpha and Billy come in a side door.

Billy: Everything is ready. Morph and go into the field. Call the Moble Arsenal Vehicles from there.

Kara: Let's get this over with guys.

Karen: We can do a lot better this time.

Victor: Enough yapping. Let's morph.

Scene 9
Setting: The practice field. The Rangers are standing around looking towards the holding bay. A monster appears behind them. They turn around and look up at it.

Victor: Ok, lets get them rolling.


The mountain opens up and the Moble Arsenal Vehicles come out. They stop just short of where the Rangers are standing. The Rangers jump up and land in their cocpits.

Victor: Firebot, power up.

Tai and Kara: Blue-diamond tank, power up.

Karen and Joe: Purple-onyx tank, power up.

The vehicles come to life.

Victor: Now lets do this right. Attack.

Victor rushed towards the monster. It prepairs to jump out of his way and as it jumps Firebot lifts it arms and fires it's blasters right at the monster. It falls to the ground. When it gets up Tai and Kara move in.

Tai: Let's show this thing what we've got.

Kara: Yeah.

Blue-diamond tank begins to spin around in circles. As it rotates it fires all the guns pointed at the monster. It is hit hard and charges them. It smashes the vehicle. It prepairs for a second attack but Purple-onyx blasts it with it's biggest gun. The monster falls and explodes.

Kara: Thanks for saving our butts.

Tai: Yeah, we owe you one.

Joe: Don't mention it.

Karen: Just consider it payback for last time.

Victor: Good job guys.

Scene 10
Setting: Gridster's hiding place near the practice field.

Gridster: So that is their little secret. I'll rip them apart like an aluminum can. Hehehehehe.

He teleports away.

Act 4
Scene 1
Setting: Downtown Angel Grove. Gridster and a flock of tangas appear. They begin to terrorize the city. People run away in a panic.

Scene 2
Setting: Joe's house. He is studying when his communicator goes off. He activates it.

Joe: I read you.

Zordon's voice comes in over the communicator.

Zordon: There is an emergency. I have contacted the other Rangers. Please teleport to the Power Chamber.

Joe: I'm on my way.

He deactivates the communicator and teleports away.

Scene 3
Setting: The Power Chamber. Everyone except Joe is standing around the viewing globe. Joe teleports in and joins them.

Zordon: As you can see Gridster is back. You must stop him.

Victor: We're on it. Ready guys.

Scene 4
Setting: Downtown Angel Grove. The Rangers appear.

Victor: Hold it right there Gridster.

Tai: Guese he didn't learn his lesson last time.

Kara: Let's finish the job then.

Karen: Your through.

Joe: Yeah, we're gonna win.

The Rangers do a pose.

Gridster: I think I can handle 5 little Rangers. Tanga's, leave us.

The tanga's look confused but teleport away anyhow. Just Gridster and the Rangers remain.

Gridster: I'm going to enjoy this. Hehehe.

Tai and Kara run up and simultaneously side kick Gridster in the stomach. Joe charges and punches him in the face. Karen and Victor both fire their Laser Pistols after the others get out of the way. Gridster falls back in pain.

Gridster lifts both arms behind his head.

Gridster: Morphing grid power blast!

His arms light up and he streaches them out towards the Rangers. Beams leave his arms and strike the Rangers. The blast knocks them down. The blast drained Gridster and he also fell.

Kara: Now that hurt.

Joe: I can't feel my leg.

Karen: We need to hit him while he's down. Everybody get up.

They all slowly stand up. Gridster is still lying still on the ground.

Victor: Weapons online! Fire Staff, power up!

Tai: Lightning Strikers, power up!

Kara: Diamond Cutter, power up!

Karen: Amethyst Blaster, power up!

Joe: Onyx Chargers: power up!

Alpha's voice comes over the communicator.

Alpha: Rangers, you can combine your weapons into the Eastern Blaster. It should stop Gridster.

Tai: Cool, let's do it.

Victor: Eastern Blaster power now.

Victor throws the Fire Staff into the air. It stays suspened horizontaly. Tai throws up the Lightning Strikers. They land sideways on top of the Fire Staff. Kara tosses the Diamond Cutter. It sets on top of the Strikers. Karen throws the Amethyst Blaster. It lands on top of the Cutter with it's handle forming the handle of the Eastern Blaster. Finaly Joe tosses the Onyx Chargers and they hook onto the bottom of the Strikers. The Eastern Blaster falls into Victors hands. The other Rangers stand to his sides.


A beam with all the Ranger's colors in it leaves the Blaster and nails Gridster. He falls to the ground.

Karen: Yeah, I knew we could do it.

Scene 5
Setting: The Moon Palace.

Zedd: Looks like he needs our help.

Rita: Then let's help him get a heigth advantage.

They both lift up thier wands and cross them over each other.

Zedd and Rita: By the power and force of lightning, make our monster grow.

A bolt fires down to earth and strikes Gridster. He becomes a giant.

Scene 6
Setting: The battle. The Rangers stare at Gridster as he grows.

Tai: Uh oh.

Joe: Guess it's time to take it up a level, huh?

Victor: You bet. Moble Arsenal, online!

The Moble Arsenal vehicles come out of the holding bay. The Rangers teleport into thier cockpits.

Victor: Firebot, power up.

Tai and Kara: Blue-diamond tank, power up.

Karen and Joe: Purple-onyx tank, power up.

They arrive on the scene.

Tai: How do you like our new toys Gridster?

Gridster: I saw you testing them. I'll tear you apart.

Gridster charges towards the Moble Arsenals.

Joe: Uh, he's coming right for us!

Victor: Then let's take him out. Arm blasters, fire!

Firebot fires it's blasters at Gridster. It's a direct hit and he starts to slow down.

Gridster: You'll have to do better than that.

Tai: Ok then, we will. Pattern shot!

The Blue-diamond tank spins in circles and fires all the guns as they aim at Gridster. The last shot brings him to a dead stop.

Karen: Our turn. Megafire!

The Purple-onyx tank fires it's biggest gun at Gridster. He stumbles, falls and explodes.

Joe: We got him!

Kara: Nice shot Karen.

Karen: I may not be able to drive but I can shoot.

Victor: That's the end of Gridster.

Scene 7
Setting: The spot where Gridster just exploded. A dark figure can be seen limping away form the ashes.

Dark Figure: I'll get you next time Rangers. You haven't begun to see my true power.

He teleports away.

Act 5
Scene 1
Setting: A classroom at the high school. Joe, Kara, and Victor are finishing a test. They start talking as they leave the classroom.

Victor: So how did you guys do?

Kara: Just great. Having to fight monsters instead of studying is gonna be good for my grade.

Joe: At least you can joke about it. My parents are gonna kill me when they see how I did.

Victor: Oh, come on. They'll only make your life miserable for the next 100 years.

Joe: Thats encouraging.

They leave the school and head home.

Scene 2
Setting: The Moon Palace.

Zedd: I can't believe he failed against those stupid brats!

Rita: Come on Zeddy, cheer up. At least those Zeo punks are out of the way. These new guys have no idea what they're doing. We'll get them.

Zedd: You had better be right.
