Battle of Gold: Lithium vs Thunder

Act 1
Scene 1
Setting: Transport 1. Commander Tigris is meeting with General Blizzard.

Commander: So you have a plan that will actually work against the Eastern Rangers?

Blizzard: Yes I do.

Commander: Then let's hear it. And it better be good, for your sake.

Blizzard: We've already discovered that our forces just can't out power the Rangers. It will take a Ranger to beat them.

Commander: And just how are we supposed to do that? We can't make a Ranger. If we could I would have done it by now.

Blizzard: I wasn't planning on making a new Ranger. I'm planning to make one of the current Rangers turn on the others. That way, not only is a Ranger fighting for us, but it will also break up their team and cut their total power.

Commander: That just might work. You have permission to carry out this plan. But I warn you, if you fail, you will wish you were never born.

Blizzard: Understood sir.

Blizzard turns and leaves the room.

Scene 2
Setting: A park in the middle of Angel Grove. The Rangers are watching some people play a game of basketball, waiting for their turn to use the court.

Max: It sure is a nice day.

Tai: You said it. We couldn't ask for a better day to return home to.

Kara: The future was nice, but I really am glad to be back in our own time.

Victor: I just wish we would've made it back in time to help stop the Power Chamber from being destroyed.

Karen: At least the Rangers got out of it ok though.

Joe: I just hope their space mission works out for them.

Karen: I'm worried about Justin though. He seemed pretty bummed that he wasn't able to go with them.

Max: Hey, the courts empty. Who's up for a little basketball?

Tai: You're on.

The Rangers get up and head for the court.

Act 2
Scene 1
Setting: A lab on Transport 3. Blizzard is looking at a device the lab technicians just finished. It's about 2 feet high, the thickness of a soda bottle, and has a mini satellite dish mounted on the top.

Blizzard: So this is the device?

Technician: Yes General. We built it exactly as you wanted. It will cause anyone hit with it to become overwhelmed with rage and anger, leading them to turn evil.

Blizzard: Excellent. And the change is permanent?

Technician: Mostly.

Blizzard: Mostly isn't good enough. I told you this had to be a permanent change!

Technician: The beam's effect will never wear off. So in that sense it is permanent. The only way it wouldn't be permanent is if someone were able to decode the exact frequencies of the beam and create an exact opposite beam.

Blizzard: Could the Rangers do that?

Technician: With the technology the Tigris gave them I suppose they could. But without the device that makes the beam it would be really hard to do. By the time they could figure it out without the device, the evil Ranger would probably destroy them.

Blizzard: So all I have to do is make sure they don't get their hands on this device and it should be fine. And even if they do undo the beam I can just zap another one of them.

Technician: Um, about that sir. The beam required is very powerful. I'm afraid the device is only strong enough to fire once. After that, the components will be burned out and useless.

Blizzard: That's good to know. So I can only pick one Ranger, and I have to make the shot count. That's good to know.

Technician: May I make a suggestion about which Ranger to use it on?

Blizzard: I suppose.

Technician: The Lithium Ranger is the most logical choice, sir. He's the most powerful, and his zord's full capabilities don't require being combined with any of the others.

Blizzard: Yes, Lithium does sound like the best choice. That's my target then.

Technician: Let me know how it all works out sir.

Blizzard: I will.

General Blizzard turns and leaves the lab.

Scene 2
Setting: The basketball court in the park. The Rangers are getting really into the game and aren't paying attention to their surroundings, so they don't notice the Razormites are hiding in the bushes all around them. One of the Razormites accidentally steps on some dried up branches, causing a loud cracking sound. Tai pauses for a second and looks towards the direction of the sound.

Victor: What's the hold up Tai?

Tai: Did you guys hear that?

Kara: Probably just a squirrel or something. No big deal.

One of the Razormites in the bushes gives the signal to the others to attack. All at once they leap out from behind their cover and start charging at the Rangers.

Tai: Just a squirrel huh?

Kara: Oh shut up.

The Razormites close in on the Rangers. Without hesitation the Rangers start fighting them off. After only a few moments it's apparent that the sheer number of Razormites there is giving them the advantage. It's all the Rangers can do to keep from being overwhelmed by the onslaught.

Joe: Something big must be up. We've never been up against this many at one time before.

Victor: This is nuts. I don't know how long we can hold them off.

The Razormites start getting between Max and the rest of the Rangers, effectively separating him from the rest of the group. Karen notices what's going on.

Karen: They're separating Max from us!

Max: Don't worry about me. I can handle these losers.

The Rangers continue doing battle. They start getting the hang of dealing with such a large group. Now they're holding their own with no trouble.

Tai: Heh, this isn't so bad once you get used to it.

Max: Quit talking so much and just keep hitting. There has to be an end to this attack eventually.

Tai: You're no fun.

Scene 3
Setting: The bushes that the Razormites came out of. General Blizzard is hiding there with the device for turning Max evil.

Blizzard: That's it. Keep him away from the group.

He presses a button on a communicator he mounted on his shoulder.

Blizzard: It's time. Hold him still so I can get a good shot.

Blizzard: They can't hold him for long, but I only need a second to fire this thing.

From his vantage point Blizzard watches as the Razormites near Max grab onto him and immobilize him.

Blizzard: That's it!

He presses the only button on the device. It flashes, then begins to smoke. It's fried.

Blizzard: It's done. Now to watch the fun.

Scene 4
Setting: The basketball court. Max has just been grabbed by the Razormites. He flings them off within 10 seconds.

Max: It'll take more than that to stop me.

Another few minutes pass with the Rangers fighting harder and harder. They finally take out the last few Razormites still standing. After the last ones fall, they all vanish.

Victor: Well that was odd.

Max starts walking towards the others but begins to stager while doing so.

Joe: Are you all right?

Max: I think so. I just feel a bit....strange.

Victor: How so?

Max: I don't know. It's almost like the feeling I have when we're in the middle of an intense fight. A rush of adrenaline like that.

Kara: Well we did just fight.

Max: But it's not the same feeling. It's getting more intense.

Victor: Maybe we should head back to the Megaship and see if EECA can find anything wrong with you.

Victor walks over to Max and grabs his arm to help him walk. Max quickly flings his arm off.

Max: GET AWAY FROM ME!

After a moments pause he punches Victor in the chest sending him sprawling backwards and knocking him to the ground.

Victor: Ease up! I was only trying to help.

Max: I....I...I can't....help it.

He grabs at his head and bends forward.

Karen: Max, what's happening?

Max: I don't know. It's so.....strong.

He straightens up then arches his back a little. As he does this he starts screaming.

Max: AAAGGGHHH!

About 30 seconds pass with him screaming the whole time. Then he stops and returns to a normal posture.

Joe: Are you ok? What was all that about?

Max (with a very gruff voice): Oh I'm ok. But very soon none of you will be!

Victor: What?!

Max: Fight me Rangers! Fight me now!

He starts moving in on the others.

Kara: Max! Snap out of it. What's wrong with you?

Max is standing right in front of Kara.

Max: Shut up!

He sweeps her legs out from under her and she falls. Tai walks up in a fury and pushes Max right in the chest.

Tai: You moron. You don't treat my girlfriend like that!

Without responding Max punches Tai right in the nose.

Victor: That's enough Max. Nock it off now!

Max: I said fight me Rangers! Right now!

Tai: Fight you? The way you're acting nothing would make me happier.

Victor grabs Tai's shoulder.

Victor: We're not fighting him.

Max: You'll fight me or I'll destroy this whole city.

Karen: Something happened to him. Max just isn't like this.

Max: Fine, since none of you seem to want to fight, I'll make you fight. IT'S MORPHIN TIME!

(Lithium Morphing Sequence)

Max: You either morph and fight me or I start leveling this city.

Kara: This is stupid. Let's just fight him and get it out of his system.

Victor: No.

Max: Then I'll start it!

Max builds up an energy wave and releases it right in the middle of the Rangers. The wave sends them all flying outwards. They land several feet away.

Joe: He's crazy. He could've killed us!

Max turns and faces Joe.

Max: That was the whole idea.

Joe gets a shocked look on his face.

Joe: What?!

The Rangers start picking themselves up off the ground.

Tai: He's serious Victor. I really think he'll attack the city if we don't fight.

Victor: I hate to do this, but he's left us no choice. IT'S MORPHIN TIME!

(Time Fire Morphing Sequence)
(Time Lightning Morphing Sequence)
(Time Diamond Morphing Sequence)
(Time Amethyst Morphing Sequence)
(Time Onyx Morphing Sequence)

Victor: You happy now Max?

Max: Very much so. Let's see what you wimps can do. Lithium Saber!

The Lithium Saber appears in Max's hand. He charges at the other Rangers, slashing each of them as he goes past them. Sparks fly and after only a few seconds he's hit all of them several times. He stops, then jumps back away from the group to take a look at the effect of his attack.

The Rangers are barley able to remain standing, and smoke is rising from each of their suits when the Lithium Saber made contact with them.

Max: That looked like it hurt a little Rangers.

Victor: So you want to play with weapons huh? Fire Staff, power up!

Kara: You can't be serious.

Victor: You're the one that wanted to fight him to get it out of his system. Don't back down now.

Kara: Fine. Diamond Cutter, power up!

Tai: Lightning Strikers, power up!

Karen: Amethyst Blaster, power up!

Joe: Onyx Chargers, power up!

Victor: Pull them together. We're not doing this halfway.

Joe: I can't believe we're doing this.

Victor throws the Fire Staff into the air. It stays suspended horizontally. Justin throws up the Lightning Strikers. They land sideways on top of the Fire Staff. Kara tosses the Diamond Cutter. It sets on top of the Strikers. Karen throws the Amethyst Blaster. It lands on top of the Cutter with its handle forming the handle of the Eastern Blaster. Finally Joe tosses the Onyx Chargers and they hook onto the bottom of the Strikers. The Eastern Blaster falls into Victors hands. The other Rangers stand to his sides.

Max: Hehehe, go ahead and try it.

Victor: Eastern Blaster, FIRE!

A beam with all the Ranger's colors leaves the blaster and heads right at Max. Just before it hits he holds his saber like a baseball bat and swings at the beam. The beam presses on the saber for a few moments. The saber overpowers it and sends it flying right back at the Rangers. It lands just inches away from Victor's feet. The force of the blast knocks them down. The dirt kicked up by the beam lands all over them.

Max: Pathetic.

He turns and starts walking away.

Karen: Wait! Where are you going?

Max: Away from you losers. Don't bother looking for me. I'll show up when I'm ready to finish you off.

With that he teleports away. The Rangers get back up on their feet.

Joe: This is bad.

Tai: What got into him?

Victor: I have no idea, but EECA might be able to tell us something. We should get back to the Megaship.

Tai, Kara, Karen, and Joe: Right.

They teleport away.

Act 3
Scene 1
Setting: The control room of the Tigris Megaship. The Eastern Rangers teleport in.

Victor: EECA, bring up the data from that last fight.

EECA: Data ready.

Victor: Scan the data for anything that might have caused Max to start attacking us.

EECA: Scanning now.

While EECA scans the battle data video of the battle moves in fast-forward on the viewing screen.

EECA: Scan complete.

Karen: Well, what did you find?

EECA: For a brief moment there are traces of an abnormal energy signature. However, it is only momentary and then vanishes completely.

Victor: Bring up the footage of it.

The battle footage rewinds. It stops where Max has just been grabbed by several Razormites. He flings them off within 10 seconds. Then the video stops.

EECA: That is the time frame that I detect the energy signal in.

Tai: Nothing happened though.

Joe: Maybe one of the Razormites put something on him or injected him with something?

Kara: No injection would show up as a traceable energy signal.

Karen: But a foreign object might put off a signal at first then become cloaked once it's on his body. EECA, scan for any signs of something on Max after that point that wasn't there before.

EECA: Scanning now.

The video of the battle now focuses on Max. His body is shown as a series of grid lines. While the footage moves forward a bar of light passes over Max several times.

EECA: No new objects on or in Max's body are detectable.

Victor: That leaves us right back where we started.

Joe: But we know that whatever happened happened in those few seconds.

Kara: Hmm. I have an idea. EECA, scan our fight with Max and see if that energy signal shows up again.

EECA: Scanning.

The video shows the Rangers fight with Max in fast forward. It reaches the end and stops.

EECA: Almost untraceable quantities of the same energy signature are showing up anytime that Lithium Ranger's powers suddenly spike.

Kara: Only when his power spikes huh?

EECA: Affirmative.

Kara: That energy is the key to this. Now we just need to get enough traces of it to analyze it.

Tai: And how are we supposed to get that?

Victor: We're going to have to fight him again.

Joe: Yeah, but to get enough traces to do anything with we're going to need him to put out a lot more power than he did before. And he cleaned our clocks last time. Just how are we supposed to get him to use that much power?

Victor: The Ultimate powers should make him kick it up a bit.

Karen: You're suggesting we use our strongest powers against one of our own?

Victor: We have no choice. If we don't make him fight hard we'll never free him from whatever is making him do this.

Kara: Now we just have to get him to come out and fight us.

Victor: He said he'd be back. We'll wait here until he does.

The Rangers all take a seat while they wait.

Scene 2
Setting: A rooftop in downtown Angel Grove. Lithium Ranger teleports in.

Max: Time for the rematch Rangers.

He summons his saber and uses it to fire a small energy blast at a nearby building.

Max: That ought to bring them running.

Scene 3
Setting: The Tigris Megaship. The alarms start blaring. An image of Max on the rooftop appears on the viewing screen.

Victor: Looks like it's time to go guys.

All Rangers: IT'S MORPHIN TIME!

(Time Fire Morphing Sequence)
(Time Lightning Morphing Sequence)
(Time Diamond Morphing Sequence)
(Time Amethyst Morphing Sequence)
(Time Onyx Morphing Sequence)

Scene 4
Setting: The rooftop. The Rangers teleport in. Max is standing there waiting for them.

Max: I knew you'd show up if I just started blowing stuff up.

Victor: We held back last time because we didn't want to fight you. This time we're going all out.

Max: Good. I like a good fight.

Kara: We sticking to the plan?

Victor: Yeah. We'll make this fight as intense as we possibly can.

Max: You want intense huh? I can provide you with that.

He uses his saber to fire an energy beam at the Rangers. The blast kicks up debris that blocks their vision a bit, but otherwise they are unphased by it. Before the debris fully clears Max is standing among them. He leans forward while kicking backward, hitting Victor right in the middle of the back. Victor stumbles forward. Tai tries to do a leg sweep against Max before he gets his other foot down, but Max jumps up and puts both feet right into Tai's chest before he can pull it off.

He lands and spins around to face Kara. Karen and Joe rush in from his sides and try to grab him. He reacts too fast for them, dodging Karen's blow. He then grabs her arm and pulls her right into the path of Joe's attack. Max lets go of her arm and she falls to the ground at Joe's feet.

Joe: Karen! Are you alright?

Karen: I'll be fine. Just knocked the wind out of me.

Joe: You'll pay for that!

Max: Oh really?

Max reaches for Joe.

Kara: Never turn your back on an opponent!

She attacks while Max isn't paying attention to her, but her shouting warned him in plenty of time to dodge her punch.

Max: And you should learn not to yell when you have the element of surprise!

He swings hard for her. Joe catches his arm before he can make contact.

Joe: Not so fast.

Max: You runt! Let go of my arm or I'll break you in half!

Karen: Over my dead body!

She descends from the sky and pulls off a successful drop kick. Max is surprised.

Max: I'm impressed Karen. I didn't think you could pull off an attack like that.

Tai and Victor rejoin the rest of the team.

Victor: I think it's time to put the plan into effect guys.

Max: What plan?

Kara: You'll see.

Victor, Tai, Kara, Karen, and Joe: ULTIMATE POWER, NOW!

(Ultimate Fire Transformation)
(Ultimate Lightning Transformation)
(Ultimate Diamond Transformation)
(Ultimate Amethyst Transformation)
(Ultimate Onyx Transformation)

Max: My powers are the legendary Gold Lithium powers of Tigris. Do you really think those puny enhancements to your own powers will help you against me?

Victor: We'll find out won't we?

Max: Let's do it.

The Rangers charge at Max. Victor is the first to reach him. Max tries to take him down with a quick blow, but Victor blocks it. They remain deadlocked for a few seconds, then Victor breaks Max's hold. While he's still stunned from Victor's block Tai and Kara land several punches. Sparks fly as they hit. Max stumbles backwards. Joe and Karen move in to attack. They simultaneously hit him with upwards kicks. He lifts a few inches off the ground then crashes down. He quickly gets back up.

Max: Not bad Rangers. Looks like the Ultimate powers bring you closer to my level than I thought. But it's still not enough. I still have my trump card. Thunder Split!

A gold glow surrounds the Lithium Ranger. His body appears to move to the side. There are now two bodies standing there. The glow vanishes and both the Thunder Ranger and Lithium Ranger are standing there.
Thunder Ranger: Now you're all finished.

Lithium Ranger: I don't think so Thunder Ranger.

Lithium Ranger steps forward so he's there with the rest of the Rangers then turns to face Thunder Ranger.

Lithium Ranger: I've been set free. Looks like the split gave you all the evil.

Thunder Ranger: You don't really plan to fight me do you Lithium Ranger. You and I are one.

Lithium Ranger: I'll do whatever I have to do to stop evil. Including fighting myself.

Tai: So you're really on our side again?

Lithium Ranger: Yes.

Victor: Good to have you back. We were getting worried there.

Lithium Ranger: You should be worried. If this split wears off I'll go back to being evil again. And who knows if the Thunder Split will have this effect again.

Joe: So what happened to you Max?

Thunder Ranger: Oh yes Lithium Ranger, do tell them all about how we came to be what we are now.

Lithium Ranger: I got hit with some kind of beam when we were fighting the Razormites. After it took effect I was unable to control myself. Rage just rose up in me. I couldn't do anything about it. Before I knew it I was battling you. I'm just glad the split set me free, even if it is only half of me.

Victor: So how do we undo what the beam did?

Lithium Ranger: I don't know.

Tai: We've got EECA gathering data on your energy. We were trying to find out what exactly happened to you.

Karen: Now that we know, we should be able to have EECA find a way to undo the beam's affect.

Lithium Ranger: You'd have better luck if all of you concentrated on finding that answer.

Victor: I'd have liked to leave one or two of us to work on it, but you're quite the handful to fight. We all had to be here.

Lithium Ranger: I can handle Thunder Ranger. His power is inferior to the Lithium Powers, and the evil is keeping him from thinking straight.

Kara: We can't leave you here to fight yourself!

Thunder Ranger: Personally, I love the idea of a one-on-one fight. It would prove which side of me is really stronger.

Lithium Ranger: If I need help I'll call you. Besides, you'll be helping me more by finding a way to stop this.

Victor: Ok, we'll go back to the Megaship.

Victor places his hand on Lithium Ranger's shoulder.

Victor: Be careful Max. Don't hesitate to contact us if you need anything.

Lithium Ranger: Thanks. You'll be watching the fight I take it?

Victor: Yeah.

Lithium Ranger: No matter what you see, please stay out of it unless I call for help.

Victor: We will. But if the split ends we'll be right back out here to make sure you don't cause any damage.

Lithium Ranger: Sounds good.

Thunder Ranger starts getting impatient and starts pacing.

Thunder Ranger: Are you done yapping yet?

Lithium Ranger: Yeah. Let's do this.

Thunder Ranger: It's about time.

Thunder and Lithium Ranger get in position. Victor and the rest of the team step back.

Victor: Time to make our exit.

Victor, Tai, Kara, Karen, and Joe teleport away.

Thunder Ranger: This is gonna be good.

Lithium Ranger: That's probably the only thing you and I will agree on right now.

Act 4
Scene 1
Setting: The rooftop. Lithium and Thunder Ranger are in position to fight. After only a few seconds pause they move in on each other.

They each quickly draw their weapons just before they collide. Sparks fly as the Thunder Saber and Lithium Saber slam into each other at full force. Thunder Ranger slashes downward with all his might, breaking Lithium Ranger's guard and forcing him to step backwards.

Thunder Ranger: You're weaker than I expected.

Lithium Ranger: You're sadly mistaken if you think on single sword slash is going to determine the outcome of this fight. You didn't even manage to hit me.

Thunder Ranger: I'll fix that mistake right now!

Thunder Ranger unleashes a furious volley of slashes against Lithium Ranger. Lithium Ranger has no trouble blocking the first few, but soon starts struggling to keep up. After about 50 slashes Thunder Rangers gets a good diagonal slash all the way from Lithium Ranger's right shoulder to the bottom of his left foot. Sparks and flames erupt from Lithium Ranger. He begins to fall but sticks his saber into the ground and catches himself with it. He is now in a kneeling position with Thunder Ranger looming over him.

Lithium Ranger: Is that all you've got?

Thunder Ranger: You don't seem to be in any position to make fun of me Lithium Ranger. Just give up and let me have full control of our body back.

Lithium Ranger: It's going to take more than that to make me surrender Thunder Ranger.

Lithium Ranger easily pulls himself back up to his feet.

Lithium Ranger: See, you didn't do any real damage at all.

Thunder Ranger: Good. You'll put up a decent fight yet.

Lithium Ranger: I'll show you a decent fight.

Now Lithium Ranger is on the attack. He moves in and starts slashing at Thunder Ranger. As Thunder Ranger continues to block his attacks Lithium Ranger releases one hand from his saber. He makes one more slash at Thunder Ranger. Thunder Ranger blocks it. Lithium Ranger puts all the force he can behind his saber, causing a brief pause in the swordplay. Lithium Ranger quickly takes his free hand and uses it to grab the handle of the Thunder Saber.

Thunder Ranger: What are you....

Lithium Ranger drops his saber and puts his other hand also onto the Thunder Saber. With all his might he yanks it out of Thunder Ranger's hands. He tosses it into the air, picks up his own saber with lightning quick speed, and slashes the Thunder Saber in half as it falls.

Thunder Ranger: My weapon!

Lithium Ranger: Now you're unarmed and I have the advantage.

Thunder Ranger: You wouldn't use your saber on me if I'm unarmed and you know it.

Lithium Ranger: We'll see about that.

He charges up the Lithium Saber and attacks Thunder Ranger with his full power. Bolts of energy surge over Thunder Ranger's body. He stumbles backward, trying with all his might not to fall. After four steps he regains his balance and the bolts disappear.

Thunder Ranger: You moron! You almost killed me! If I'd have collapsed, you'd have killed us both!

Lithium Ranger: That's a chance I'm willing to take if it means defeating evil.

Thunder Ranger: You good guys are all insane, you know that.

Lithium Ranger: Are we going to continue or just talk all day?

Thunder Ranger: Oh we'll continue. And since you have no problem with dying over this, I guess I don't either.

Lithium Ranger: Then it's a fight to the death.

Thunder Ranger: To the death.

They race at each other again.

Scene 2
Setting: The Tigris Megaship. Victor, Tai, Kara, Karen, and Joe teleport into the main control room.

Victor: EECA, start analyzing our fight with Lithium Ranger for that energy signal. Also, monitor his current fight against Thunder Ranger.

EECA: Compiling data from your fight as well as the current fight. I should be able to map out the full energy signature in about 30 minutes.

Tai points to the viewing screen that's showing the battle.

Tai: The way those two are going at it I don't think we have 30 minutes to spare.

EECA: I'm sorry, but it is impossible to compile the signature any faster since I only have small fragments to work from.

Victor: It's alright EECA. If the damage starts getting too severe we'll jump in and give Lithium a hand.

Kara: I'm really surprised that Thunder Ranger is able to put up such a good fight against Lithium Ranger.

Joe: My guess is that the evil is making him more willing to overuse his power. It always seems like the bad guy has more power, but really all they're doing is using all their power up faster. If this turns out to be a quick battle, I imagine Thunder will win. But if it becomes a test of endurance Lithium will win for sure.

Karen: I hope you're right Joe, because neither one of them is showing any signs of giving up.

Scene 3
Setting: The battle. There is a huge explosion. Lithium and Thunder Ranger both come flying out of it in opposite directions. They both land hard on their backs. Their suits are covered with dirt and scorch marks. Thunder Ranger is the first to attempt getting up.

Thunder Ranger: This is pointless. Neither one of us can win fighting like this.

Lithium Ranger gets back on his feet.

Lithium Ranger: Feel free to give up then.

Thunder Ranger: Ha! You wish. This is to the death, remember?

Lithium Ranger: Then self-destruct and get it over with.

Thunder Ranger: I have a better idea. Let's take this up a level.

Lithium Ranger: I don't like the sound of that.

Thunder Ranger: Good. Now let's see if this old thing still functions. THUNDER BATTLEZORD POWER!

A gold streak of light strikes the ground and there is a loud blast. The zord appears.

Thunder Ranger: Hahaha, now I'll beat you Lithium Ranger.

Lithium Ranger: Oh man! I didn't even think that thing still worked anymore! Looks like I have no choice though. LITHIUM WARRIOR ZORD POWER!

A gold beam leaves the Lithium Ranger's morpher. The sky turns black. Three gold lightning bolts strike the morpher. Where Lithium Ranger was standing his zord now stands.

Lithium Ranger: You know that Elemental Zord doesn't stand a chance against my zord right?

Thunder Ranger: With me controlling it it will.

Lithium Ranger: I doubt that. Guess I'll just have to prove it to you the hard way.

Thunder Ranger: Bring it on.

The zords walk towards each other. They get within arms reach of each other. The Thunder Battlezord throws the first punch with its right arm. The Lithium Warrior Zord blocks it with ease. Leaving its right arm in position the Thunder Battlezord punches with its left arm. This, also, is blocked with ease.

Lithium Ranger: You're zord is slower than mine Thunder Ranger. You can't beat me.

Thunder Ranger: We'll see about that.

The Thunder Battlezord starts a volley of attacks. They progressively move faster and faster. Several minutes pass and the Thunder Battlezord shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, it just keeps getting faster and faster.

Lithium Ranger: How the heck is he doing that? I can hardly keep up with him.

Thunder Ranger: It's all in how you use the zord. You goody goods are always holding back so you don't damage your precious zords. Personally, I don't care one way or the other about this hunk of metal, so I'll just push it till it can't take anymore.

Lithium Ranger: You idiot. You just told me how to beat you.

Thunder Ranger: No I didn't.

Lithium Ranger: All I have to do is outlast you.

Thunder Ranger: Won't work Ranger.

Lithium Ranger: How do you figure?

Thunder Ranger: Our split won't last that long. Before I run out of power we'll become one again. Then I'll have control of the Lithium Powers again.

Lithium Ranger: Hmm, guess I'll just have to speed up the process then.

Thunder Ranger: What?!

The Lithium Warrior Zord starts increasing its speed. It keeps doing so as the Thunder Battlezord speeds up, always staying just one step ahead of it.

Lithium Ranger: Man is this ever gonna hurt the zord, but I have no choice. I have more overall power than him, so if I keep speeding things up he should blow his zord before mine blows.

A loud crack erupts from a panel behind Lithium Ranger. Sparks fly all over the cockpit.

Lithium Ranger: That is not a good sign. I sure hope this works.

The Thunder Battlezord doesn't let up, even though its power is pushed to the max.

Thunder Ranger: That idiot is really making this difficult.

Sparks fly from the main control panel. The lights in the cockpit all turn red and an alarm starts going off.

Thunder Ranger: I don't believe this. He's really going to make me blow this thing up!

Scene 4
Setting: Inside the Tigris Megaship. The Rangers are watching the battle on the main viewing screen.

Kara: I've never seen either of those zords move that fast before.

Victor: That is definitely beyond what those were designed to take. One of them is bound to blow up soon at that rate.

EECA: Rangers, I've decoded the energy signature needed to help Max.

Joe: Awesome! Let's go end this fight.

Victor: EECA, program the Eastern Blaster to fire a wave at that signature.

EECA: Programming complete.

Victor: Let's go guys.

All Rangers: Back to action!

In a flash of light the Rangers vanish.

Scene 5
Setting: The city, near where the zords are fighting. The Rangers teleport in.

Victor: Max, we've got it figured out. We're ready to change Thunder Ranger back now.

Lithium Ranger: Give me a few minutes to finish this fight. When this is done, he won't be able to resist and you can do what you have to do.

Victor: Got it.

Thunder Ranger: You think you'll stop me? I won't give you the chance!

Lithium Ranger: Your zord is almost finished Thunder Ranger. Give it up.

Thunder Ranger: I'm not going down that easily. Time for some desperate measures. Thunder Destroyer!

The Thunder Battlezord's blasters start to charge up.

Lithium Ranger: Uh oh. Not good.

Thunder Ranger: Fire!

There is a huge explosion as the Thunder Battlezord tries to fire its cannons. The Battlezord stumbles backwards several steps. Parts of the zord start falling off, sparks flying as they go. First the left arm. Then the right hand. The head falls next. The knees blow and the Thunder Battlezord falls backwards, making a loud crash as it lands. Thunder Ranger is tossed out into the street. Before he can even begin to recover and get up Lithium Ranger grabs him by the arms and holds him.

Thunder Ranger: What are you doing?

Lithium Ranger: Ending this.

Victor and the other Rangers arrive.

Thunder Ranger: You can't beat me. I am you! We are one in the same!

Lithium Ranger: We've found a way. Now you're history.

Victor: Fire Staff, power up!

Tai: Lightning Strikers, power up!

Kara: Diamond Cutter, power up!

Karen: Amethyst Blaster, power up!

Joe: Onyx Chargers, power up!

Victor, Tai, Kara, Karen, and Joe: Eastern Blaster power!

Victor throws the Fire Staff into the air. It stays suspended horizontally. Tai throws up the Lightning Strikers.

Victor, Tai, Kara, Karen, and Joe: FIRE!

Nothing visible fires from the Eastern Blaster, but Thunder Ranger starts shaking and convulsing. After a few seconds he stops.

Thunder Ranger: Oh man. It's finally over. Thank you guys.

Lithium Ranger releases his grip.

Lithium Ranger: Just in time too.

In a flash of light Lithium and Thunder Ranger rejoin.

Max: Thanks guys. I never could have beaten that evil on my own.

Tai: I think that's one of the strangest battles we've ever had.

Max: I don't know about you guys, but I'm exhausted. Let's get out of here.

Kara: Sounds good.

The Rangers teleport away.

Act 5
Scene 1
Setting: Transport 1. The Rebels have just watched as the Rangers freed Max from their beam.

Commander Tigris turns to General Blizzard.

Commander: You said they couldn't undo that beam of yours!

Blizzard: Well....yes I did, but.....

Commander: But what?

Blizzard: They must've found some way to analyze the beam for its exact energy signature. It's the only way they could've undone it.

Commander: I can't believe the level of incompetence I'm stuck with around here! From now on, I make all the plans, since none of you idiots can do anything right.

Blizzard, Callard, and Raznor all cower.

Blizzard, Callard, and Raznor: Understood sir.

Commander: Now all of you get out of here, before I take out my aggression on you!

They all scramble and leave the room.

Scene 2
Setting: The same basketball court the Rangers were at when Max got hit by Blizzard's beam. The Rangers are sitting on some benches beside the court.

Max: I really can't thank you guys enough for freeing me from that beam.

Tai: It's not like we had any choice. We can't very well have an evil Ranger on the team now can we.

Kara smacks him.

Kara: Knock it off. This is serious.

Tai rubs his head.

Tai: Ouch. I was just kidding.

Karen: Wasn't it scary attacking yourself? I'd be terrified of somehow killing myself in a battle like that.

Max: I was more scared than I can even describe. In the back of my mind I knew I could end up dying if I hit Thunder Ranger too hard. But I also knew that if he wasn't stopped that the whole planet would pay. He had to be stopped. And if anyone had to finish me off, I'd prefer it to be myself.

Joe: I guess that's a risk we've all taken by becoming Rangers isn't it?

Victor: Yeah, it is. But it's worth it. Without us, the Earth would be gone now. It's a risk that's well worth taking.

Max: I hate to be the one to break this up, but I need to get some rest. I'll see you all later.

Tai: Later man.

Kara: Sleep good Max.

Max: Oh I will. I will.

He gets up and walks away. As he's walking he thinks about the day's events.

Max (to himself): In a way I'm actually glad this happened. Now I know for sure which part of me is the most powerful, and I never have to fear being taken over by evil again.

The End
